We are proud to feature the artist Madita Kloss at Calienna. Drawing from the rich tapestries of global mythologies to the vibrant hues of contemporary fashion photography, Kloss weaves a narrative of contrasts. Her artistry dances between spirituality and intoxication, the discipline of the old world and the dolce vita of the new, all while challenging our perceptions of freedom.

With echoes of sacred medieval painting, her works burst with color, juxtaposing pagan vitality against the structured backdrop of our industrial world. As Kloss beautifully puts it: "Every person is unique, yet equal in value - just as humans are with nature."

What is growth for you?

Learning, failing, accepting, improving.

What keeps you grounded?

The woods and a good coffee help keep me grounded. I love nature and to me trees have the best and most calming energy!

How does nature influence your creative process?

I find myself in nature often. A lot of my paintings are about pagan mysticism.

What is a book that has inspired you?

It’s hard to name just one book...but at the moment ‘Der Jonas Complex’ by Thomas Glavinic. I related very intensely to the characters. I could see myself in them like they are a mirror for my personality.  Also,  ‘Home Faber’ by Max Frisch. I love the intensity of the story and it’s written so insanely good!
