What is growth for you?

Growth is striving to live fuller. Over time we learn what is truly important to us and we get better at tuning out the noise. Growth is about continuously experiencing life and interpreting the new inputs in context with our past. Using the new information, feelings and sensations to become a more complete self.

What keeps you grounded?

If you are a parent, your child will put you in your place, thats for sure! For us the small self-care routines are essential to a calm state of mind. Our schedules aren’t very set, vary extremely from week to week. So having a meditation, yoga or really any self care practice helps settle you in to your zone no matter where you are.

How do you connect with nature?

Starting with the plants in our home being in touch with nature is a huge part of our self care regimen. But we also we love to be active in nature and take any opportunity we can. One key benefit of living in Vienna is the proximity to a great variety of nature escapes.

What is a book that has inspired you?

We have both at different times in our lives read ‘In Praise of Shadows’ by Jun’ichirō Tanizaki and drawn great inspiration from it. There is a chance that it has even influenced our choice of lighting fixtures in our apartment. And lately Rick Rubin’s ‘The Creative Act’ has brought some novel thoughts to our artistic practices.

What is your favorite plant?

Monstera Deliciosa have always been one of our favorites because of their unique beauty, but at home we try to keep plants that require minimum care due to our travel schedules. We also have three different Ficus that we love and our sansevieria laurentii is definitely also a favorite, adding great character to our apartment.

Outside of our home we love seeing a gingko tree in Fall or a Japanese maple in bloom.
